This is from my sketchbook – there was a small corner of a geli print that just looked like a serene lake – I didn’t want to add too much to the composition, so I layered colored pencils over a layer of gesso after adding the original tissue collage to my sketchbook with a layer of matte medium. I might go back at a later date and add some more greens and blues, but I love the textures and abstract nature of the piece. The original is only about the size of an index card, but the prismacolor pencils did a nice job of making the leaves and ground come alive with more green and terra cotta colors.
